In true LucasArts fashion, the new Tales of Monkey Islands opens right in the middle of the action. The dread pirate LeChuck has kidnapped Elaine and Guybrush comes swinging in to the rescue. Elaine gives Guybrush the instructions to create a magical enchanted cutlass that will defeat LeChuck but, as usual, Guy manages to screw things up and has to improvise. Unfortunately, his improvisations go awry and the enchantment winds up scattering the voodoo parts of LeChuck into the world. One place they end up is in Guybrush's hands. Guy loses control of his hands, tosses the cutlass away and explodes the ship and everyone on it.
